Went to a house yesterday where they were complaining of getting shocked on garage door. The door sure enough was carrying about 22 volts.Unplugged the motor and found the whites in the rec box carrying 120 and blacks nothing. The lt in the garage was turning on and off by the blacks in the switch box(now the nuetrals)being broken by the switch and so forth. One uf feeding garage out of soffit from house(forgot to mention this is a seperate garage)Any way,no uf's in panel.Off to the attic.I found the j-box with the uf in it,expecting to find them reversed. They were not. When hr dissconnected in garage,I have 20 or so volts on ground.I also found another breaker marked garage which is on but kills nothing when I turn it off,but the voltage on the ground in my original uf jumps to 30 to 40!Going back in attic tommorrow.

I am sorry to do this but I will lock this topic due the safety reason and you will need the electrician to come out and deal with this.

This is more than a simple code issue you have there.

Merci,Marc
