A friend hooked up 6 pot light in a basement on one circuit. They are rated for 60 W each but he put in 100 w lamps temporarily. The problem is, the last 2 lights on the circuit are cycling on and off. Any idea what might cause this? Do pot light have a type of relinkable fuse?
thermal device built into the pots. always read the label and don't exceed lamp rating.
thermal switch and also read the label on the can and type of the trim and also the type of bulb it will make the diffrence there as well.
Merci,Marc
I thought metal halide was for growing pot......LOL
Try switching to the proper wattage. The listing is there for a reason, and so is the thermo cut off. Fire is a bad thing!
Also, try a par-type reflector lamp. I've found that they tend to reflect the heat downward along with the light. Although this may not be scientifically correct, it seems to work.
If they still cycle, try a dimmer or CFL lamps.
Good Luck!
JValdes, it is but you also need high pressure sodium or some warm light fluorescents if you want good light spectrum. Metal Halide is on the blue end. I would think the flashing lights would be, like, far out man...
