Hi Kids, This summer I changed out a canopy light. It was a clear metal halide. The guy called today he has 2 out. (4 total).
Quick cake tommorow.
Thinking I have some 400W multi vapors (frosted). do ya think they'll work? I think they should.Or should I cut the profit and just get the MH?
Thanx

"Multi vapor" and "metal halide" are the same bulb. Ditto for frosted or not.

The only 'joker' in the deck is if the fixtures are 'open' fixtures. The newer 'open' fixtures are designed to accept a bulb with a slightly different base. It seems that older-style MH bulbs were quite capable of operating while cracked, allowing for harmful amounts of UV rays to escape. While the 'newer, safer' bulbs will go into any MH fixture, not every fixture will accept the older bulbs.

No way? I feel like such a dope.
Thanks for the answer, I'm gonna change all 4, I know it won't be long untill the last one goes.
Thank you Reno, They are all enclosed mogul base.

Multi Vapor is to metal halide as Wirenuts is to solderless connecters. Multi Vapor is a GE trade name.
