Anyone ever tried the BorZit System or watched someone else using it to install conduit under a residential driveway?
If so, how well did it work? It looks like it could be the poor man’s boring rig.

In Florida we do this with PVC pipe and a hose.
I have had good luck with a piece of 1 inch EMT and a pressure washer.
We had to go underneth a casino driveway several times after a change in the plans. It worked pretty good. It helped that the roadway was raised so we could feed straight thru most of the time. It was more of a hassle/messy when we had to trench to have room to feed the pipe. Good luck Rod
Thanks for the direct experience!
Using a pipe, and water pressure, has all manner of problems, and there's plenty of room for improvement. The BorZit is one of several things that look to be a better tool for the job.
Never had to bore under anything. Would'nt the pressurized water make cavities under the road or other surface and effect the integrity of the substrate. Possibly leading to sink holes etc....? Thanks John
The trick with water boring is to make a drill head that puts a minimum amount of water in the hole and you have to go fast. When we broke out my driveway the pipe I shot under it looked like I dug and backfilled it in.
Hi Venture,
Thanks for the reply.
I can see how it would easily be a sloppy mess at the starting trench.
Did you leave the conduit in the bore or did you pull it back through after the bore was finished?
What do you think about using this for 2-inch conduit, would it be practical or just a waste of time?
Thanks again for the info!
When we water bore he conduit stays. I am not sure how you would get it out anyway. As soon as you stop moving it is stuck there.
I did shoot a 2" under my garage and hit a 1' hole 22' away inside on the far wall.
