The control room of my research cehmistry plant has a lab and an office above it. The office is no longer used, so we want to re-locatesome of our electrical equipment, such as a UPS, and a dozen or so VFDs to the room.
The rooms are block construction with concrete floor separating them from the control room and pre-cast concrete ceilings. There is drywall separating the office from the lab.
What questions, if any should be asked prior to installing the equipment in what was previously an office space.

One thing to check is the fire supression system. That UPS will probably not do you any good if the sprinklers come on and get it wet. You may need to change it out to a gas type of fire supression.

Also the heat load in the room. If you are going to put things in there that generate heat will the air conditioning be able to handle it. Or will you have to turn the AC up(or down?) so much that it will affect other parts of your plant and make them cold. The AC can usually be retrofitted to make each office it's own zone and control the temp. individually in each zone. Don't know what your budget is.
