Can anyone give me advise on the best way to do a back up generator. This is a big house. We're thinking 225 amp service; 100 amp sub (for the generator circuits); 4/0 Copper SEU...

Haven't done too many of these (personnally I haven't done any of these) - any suggestions on the best way to set this up? Isn't there some sort of switch involved? Just trying to get some input in addition to our electricican's knowledge...

We've put in quite a bit of Cutler-Hammer stuff for this. Basically it just disconnects the main and backfeeds a breaker. I'll try to get back with a panel name.

Happi,
Here are a couple of sketches intended to illustrate basic grounding and bonding principles only. They are not intended to represent your actual installation.
