Why would the instructions for a 1/2 hp, 10A, 120V paint sprayer claim that an 8000W generator is necessary for its operation?

Thanks

very simple starting current that what get it.

if you read the instruction manual it stated what size generator the reason why because the starting current can wreck hovc with smaller generator which it dont have much resverse or peak watttage to substand the load and also many ac and pretty good percentage of dc motor as well will have starting watts or amp much higher they can go high as 6X of running watts or amps.

and the sprayer is one good example it will cycle prettyoften just like small air commpressor it will start under the load that why it will take more current to overcome it.

most small generators will list running watts and also will list the surge wattage.
ditto with larger units as well
