Trying to save time on the site during wire pulls? Find that you keep lugging and setting up same reels for pulling in sets? One trick I have found is when you have multiple conduit runs with sets, peel off a set(full reels of red, black blue, white, or red, black, blue, or brown, orange, yellow or...) onto a 1 larger reel(like a # 6 reel) The time you save not having to lug around multiple reels as opposed to one is great. Would like to hear some more....

I Use one wire cart per color (one cart all blue, one cart all black, etc.), one cart with two or three greys/whites and one or two rolls green. Its easy money!!! (as the sheetrockers like to say [Linked Image] )

[Linked Image] electrikguy, didn't mean to offend you.It just seems alot more efficient to use a portable wire caddy set up with the different colors, than the time spent transferring the wire(s) from one reel to another.

no offense taken [Linked Image]. I know it sounds silly but I have been apart of vey large commercial and industrial jobs and the benefit of carrying one reel as opposed to multiple over and under garbage( you know how it can be)is great. Also if you have multiple sets going in it is very easy to keep track of. Also right after pull have someone make the head up while you are cleaning up and you are ready to go for the next pull. Again it is only beneficial on large jobs where you are the "pullin'" crew all friggen day. Oh gotta love "yellow 77" first thing in the morning. one last thing about time taken reeling of the wires onto one reel. I made a contraption out of emt that resembles a hand crank out the side of the reel that is removable.
