taking it a step further......

Many DIY'ers here have installed thier own service entrance from peak or pole.

The utility wil slap on a 'customer owned' sticker , check the GEC's and fire it up.

There is no 'inspection' per se'....

The common rebuttal being that the poco
( nec challenged) had hooked it up, thus it is ok.

even worse.....the poco rep may have HANDED THE CUSTOMER THE DIAGRAM PICTORAL of the required install, which is simply a picture inclusive of NO nec details...

The bad thing is that the bigger hack job the DIY'er does, the prouder they are of it and take offense if you suggest it has to be completely redone.
