I want to send a US made light switch cover to my cousin in Brasil and I am wondering if the mounting holes are in the same place. Are there other agencys, like NEMA in the US, that would have the information for dimensions on the hole spacing for a light switch cover? Thank you for any help.

Why not play it safe and send him the plate with the switch?

Different manufacturers use different methods of mounting switchplates. Some screw on, others I've seen snap in.

I believe Brazil uses American-size boxes, same as Colombia and Mexico; so a switch made for such a box would have no trouble fitting in there.
