Gentlemen:
Can anyone state a NEC Article that requires or required (Past Code Cycles, 1990 to 1996)
that required:
A "swivel" type connector if one was pendant hanging a luminare in a commercial/industrial application.

The reason for the "swivel" would be to prevent damage to the luminare or pendant if it was contacted. (It would "swing" if it was hit)

John,
The only place I recall the code requiring a flexible fitting for pendant fixtures is fro fixtures installed in classified areas.
