Does anyone know how to bypass the door latch on an older GE AV-Line main switch without shutting off the power? Theres a 1/4 size hole you can see part of the latching mech but I don't want to shove a screwdriver in there blindly. Is a 240v single phase switch.

The safest way would be to turn it off.

The bypass usually is a 'slot' that can be slid toward the back of the enclosure to pop the door.
