Can a residential recess light marked for use in wet locations, be used used in a shower without being marked for shower use?
What makes the difference?

If the fixture is marked for wet locations, then it would be appropriate for installation in a shower. See 410.4(D)

Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example.

You MUST use a rated shower trim by the same manufacturer, too.
