How do you think these new outdoor fixtures
with compact bulbs compare to HPS and
Metal Halides. I recently installed one
on a garage that looks good at night.
Very "light" fixture to hang - easy on the
electric bill too.

Welcome to the forum!

CF bulbs and fixtures are going to be a wave for sure. Advances in ballast designs, and obtaining a 'low' start temp. will be sure to have a lot more choices available.

Fixture cost is less than MH, light is 'white', with instant (almost) illumination, and no 're-strike' time.

There are also quite a few "high-bay" type fixtures available; great for warehouse lighting, and energy mgt can be connected to them, allowing partial, full, or on/off via an occupancy sensor.

Keep saving energy!
