I need to operate 2 double flood lamps (each with 2 150 watt halogen lamps) from a single motion detector. 600 watts total.
The one I have found (Heath/Zenith) is only good for 500 watts.
I will call my suppliers today, but in the meantime, any help?

Redsy,
Why not switch the lamps through a relay or 120V contactor?, using the output of the sensor as a trigger for the coil. [Linked Image]

Thanks trumpy,
I actually thought about that, but it's a residential application and I want to keep it simple. Plus, the wiring is already installed, so installing a relay would be somewhat problematic.
I would probably opt to reduce wattage, if need be.

Assuming that you are after an outdoor sensor head, try Watt Stopper (408-988-5331. The EW series is good for 0-100 watt ballast or tungsten. There are many other choices out there also.

It must be my keyboard is getting old and no longer registering all my key strokes (it could not be the operator). I meant 0-1000 watts and here is the closing ) for the phone number.

The least expensive route may be to install two motion sensors and "split" the load. 85-watt PAR38 lamps in place of 150-watters may work too.

Or, something like http://www.nolico.com/saveenergy/23_watt_par_38_outdoor_flood.htm

RAB makes a motion sensor with a 1000 watt rating and it should be easy to get. http://www.rabweb.com/catalog/stealth.pdf
