What are some of the typical HyPot voltages and time for 1/C 5KV and 15KV cables with shielding ?

Is their a 'Rule of Thumb '?

2 times the rated voltage times 75% for 1 minute....record the reading....take another reading for 10 minutes...record that reading.

divide the first reading into the second reading....EASA recommends the answer should be 2.0 or higher.....but, 1.5 is prolly o.k.

There are different levels for new versus maintenance testing, and 100% or 133% insulation.

One chart is http://www.kerite.com/catalog/catalogfiles/DC_field_testing_power.htm

Be Careful. You’re charging up fairly big capacitor(s) in the process. The test-set instruction manual is a good reference.
