My first summer job was installing and wiring all the electronic gear on large pleasure craft (GPS, radar, radio, autopilots, cockpit lighting, etc). I loved it!!

The money in marine electrical is comparable to "land based" stuff but the work is seasonal and is very affected by the economy. (Military craft excepted)

I still do marine jobs once in a while.
