If you get an Email with a subject of:
fwd: Joke and it has an attachment of Very Funny.vbs DO NOT OPEN IT!! DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY
It is a version of the LoveBug Virus and will do some major damage to your Files as well as send the virus to everyone in your Outlook Address book.

It was sent to Me and I am in the process of repair.

I bet you were using Outlook for e-mail!

If not, you must be an MS-IE user.
Ditch them and you won't have to worry.

No, I use Eudora for Email Luckily or it could have been sent to Thousands of people including you all (Did you check?)

My Outlook Address Book was empty so I don't think it spread anywhere from Me. But I definately got it!
Lost all .jpg pictures for one and who knows what got done to the registry. My Local copy of the Web is trashed.

Nasty stuff,

I better get some Coffee

My condolences...

My wife and I have stopped opening any attachment that isn't a .jpg, .mov, or .gif unless we knew it was coming. Especially wary of .exe and .zip files that even come from people we know.

I got Troj_Hybris.dll once, but caught it in time. ("Hey! Where's the picture?...Oh Crap!") Got it again, but recognized the email and deleted it at once, then ran a virus scan. (I use http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_pcc.asp which is always updated with the latest virus detection and cures...)

Scott35 has some horror stories too I think...

You guys need to get a firewall installed on your computer. Try MacAfee. Works great for me. Thanks.

I really can't figure out what motivates intelligent people to acts of terrorism on the internet?

I am usually wary of things like this, but It was from someone familiar, I thought maybe something to post here. I opened it and the Harddrive (and my stomach) churned for about ten minutes.

I finally got a new version of Mcafee installed and set it to scan all and delete infected files (there's no repair with this ons) I'm now 6,400 files lighter. mostly jpg, some txt and data files.
