Adding a circuit to a heat pump under a mobil home that has been underpinned would it be aceptable to run a shethed cable or would conduit be required?

While underpinning may convert the home from "mobile" to "permanent" in the eyes of the tax and zoning folks, it doesn't change a thing in the NEC.

The wire needs to be in pipe.
