Like I said, a fluorescant fixture above the door and you don't have to worry about the clearances. Have used typical undercounter type that are covered. Menards has them with pull chains and are called closet fluorescents. Can't seem to put to memory the rules for closets so I have to lay it out everytime I need to light one.
