Well the cable ground looks poor but typical.
Where is the support on the SE cable?

I'm mostly concerned with the cable company grounding the cable system to the rusted clamp bolt on the service meter. The feed is a whole different subject.

What is ?
On my house the cable company wrapped a piece of perforated strap around my outside faucet with a nut & bolt to tighten it up.
Besides being a poor electrical connection it left sharp edges that would cut whoever tried to use the faucet.

This is a great example of an installation that violates 250.94 for bonding for other systems.

iwire,
Years ago when CATV came to the city, the installer also went to the outside water faucet.
Only problem, the water pipe did not connect to anything inside the dwelling. It was just a "dummy" faucet for some reason, and the installer had to know that, because just pulling on the faucet to put that grounding band on, the pipe and faucet came out of the wall.

Hello all,
When I bought my house a few years ago (built circa 1940), I found that the telephone and CATV were bonded to an outside water faucet. Naturally, when I moved in and installed my satellite system, I used the same faucet to ground it. A few days later as I was moving things into the basement, I noticed that there was a 2' length of PVC piping just inside the wall from the faucet. Apparently a pipe had busted in the past and someone simply replaced it with PVC. That's when I learned my lesson about using outdoor faucets for grounding.
