Well I figured the voltage drop on a load to a small barn.VD=2xKxIxD/cm and the drop was like 5 volts Here`s the question. If I measure the voltage at the wires to have the drop I`ll need the load connected and operating right?Guy here says no voltage drop unless load is running.I`ll still get some drop just for wire reistance I know. But bottom line is we figured the drop for that load and changing the load will change drop?
You will need the load on in order to measure the voltage drop. It takes current flowing through the resistance of the circuit to use up voltage. Just turn all the loads on, measure the voltage at each end of the run, and subtract the two.
