For some reason I remember the explanation that "Greenfield" was a brand name of flexible conduit... As with "Kleins" (Lineman's Pliers) "Wire Nuts" (wire connectors) "Buchanons" (grounding crimps) "Penetrox" (Anti-Oxidant) "Kleenex" (tissue paper) "Vaseline" (petroleum jelly) etc.... You get the picture. Does anyone know any more particulars of the name?

I am aware of a man named Harry Greenfield who was a patenter of AC cable I believe. I have an Inquiry into AFC and will post their response if any. ... Unless you know and are testing us??
