Doesn't hanging heavy psuedo-point loads on structual beams mess with the structual engineer's calculations?

At one office I worked at, we found out that such transformers have enough stray magnetic fields to mess with CRT computer monitors. We had a computer set up at a spot where, on teh other side of the wall, the transformer was located. This was 12 years ago, before LCD panels came out.
