It's been two hours, and bear with me I am really pissed off! The cops have still not shown up, and I am still looking at my busted window on this computer right now. I'm thinking I should have gone and hunted this MOFO down as soon a I got my cloths on.....

This dill wad actually drove back up while I was waiting for the cops, and I unfortunately only got the descriction of the truck and better one of him, but not the plate as I chased him off.

The cops just showed up and got more information than they want............

I'm sick of this crap!

I know what you mean you just cant have nice things without someone trying to steal them! Trust me I kow how you feel... I ALMOST caught a pair of thieves going into vehicles on my street... To make a long story short, If I would of caught them:

1. The utility pole would have their imprint imbedded in the wood ... As in ( Sorry officer, they saw me coming, turned to run and ran face first into the pole, I did not touch them, really I didn't!!) And the local emergency would be +2 admissions that night.

2. I'd be in jail.... and the local emergency room would still be +2 admissions that night...

Funny how thing happen in clusters...

I just came from the "park" where I have my shop. There have been a series of break-ins lately. This morning, a gentleman was witnessed cutting a lock, entering a unit, and representing himself as the tenant. When his tale didn't work, he fled... before police could respond.

At least we now have a description, of both him and his truck...

Oddly enough, prior to this confrontation, there had been a great deal of speculation as to who the guilty party might be. Without going into the details, every assumption could not have been more wrong!

Maybe Messers. Smith and Wesson should greet this ******* the next time he tried to "liberate the oppressed tools of the contractor"?

Of course, I do have a rather single minded opinion of these skells...

I should also mention that when I chased this punk off, I had a 1/2" bender handle and just barely missed his hand as he pulled the door shut and peeled off.

Had I been just a little faster... [Linked Image]

And there were no shadows the next night to hide in after I whipped up some 150w halogen floods at various angles, but the wife is making me move one of them as it lights up my van, as well as the otherside of the street. So anyway, now at night, I dont have to stick to infrared. I get footage all night in much better detail, and blazing color.

Now, and I need some help on this, I want to intergrate my alarm and lighting. I need some way to have say a 12v RC controlled proximity sensor trigger a relay inside the house. That way if you touch the van, the other floods will go on. That will make my wife happy, as currently there are NO SHADOWS in front of the house after dark, and the neighbors are looking at me funny. And I might be able to sleep at night. Any ideas?

Short of that I am pretty sure an electric fence charger hooked up to the van could be hazardous, and not good for the van either.

X-10 stuff would be inexpensive and work well.

Let me know if you want more detail.

How could it interface with the car alarm? Do they have a remote for that?

Go to the pound and get the nastiest dog they've got, put it inside the vehicle w/ some food and water. Don't forget to leave the doors unlocked. Sit back at the monitor and wait for the fun to begin.
