Guy's I'm interested in knowing what the price of a 1000' spool of romex is running in your area. Here in S. Louisiana the cost of 12/2 is around $480 and 14/2 is around $330. Seems like after the hurricane the price of everything went through the roof.

Romex wire has almost gone up 300% in the last 2 1/2 to 3 years.

I hardly use Romex anymore, but 12-2 MC is running about $510 a thousand, which is about 250% more than I was paying last summer.

Priced any zinc die cast fittings lately? Can't call them cheap anymore, some cost more than steel.

I observe that Fox Electric Supply is currently listing 350 MCM THHN for about $7.34 a foot. Call the above scenario 100 feet with terminations, that makes 100*3*$7.34 = $2,202.

A little off topic, but since copper went up, people have been stealing everything from air conditioning tubing to the copper stored in our warehouses. They even steal the grounds off our power poles.
But they caught at least one of them the other day. Well....not caught. He was still laying on top of the 12.5 Kv breaker he climbed up on with his cutting tools to steal the copper while it was energized.
No....he he did not survive.

You got hosed! 500kcmil CU is only(ha, ha)$10.77 per ft. here.
12-2 per 100'= $369.00. I have a job coming up requiring 3000' of 500kcmil. They want me to quote it now and stick to my price when installation happens in 3-4 weeks. I said pay for the wire now and I'll hold my labor charges where they are for 90 days. I'm not the bank.
