My uncle Ted swallowed mallets in a circus!

Really? Was he a professional?

No, he was an 'Ammerchewer!

Red Adair invented the process of putting out oil well fires. He is the guy who put those fires out in Kuwiat. It was supposed to take years, he did it in a couple months.

As a kid I had always heard about Red Adair because I'm from Houston. My dad had a boat at the same marina that Mr. Adair had his boat. The man is a legend. One day I'm heading home after twisting wires all day. I was running about 70 down IH-10, and a red Lincoln rolls past me. I look to the left, and it was Red Adair. I sped up, and caught him running about 85. I felt like it was an honor just to be on the same freeway as he. I stayed with him, and just glanced at him from time to time. He looked over and I waved at him, and he waved back. Anyhow, that was my only Red Adair story. Go rent the movie "Hellfighters".
