I received a call of lights flickering at a restaurant when the dishwasher kicks on. What are some things to look for. I checked for loose neutrals, hots. They are on different circuits

Flickering as in actually going on and off a time or two, or just a momentary dip in brightness?
If the latter then it might just be the normal momentary voltage drop on the feeder caused by the switch-on surge of the motor.

Is there any way to solve this. It looks really bad when you have many people in a restautant and the lites dim every so often.

Aside from moving the lights from phase A to phase B, or upgrading the service so that the dishwasher load won't appreciably effect the available voltage to the lights, or reducing the load to the lighting circuit by sharing the circuits, I guess the only thing is to reduce the draw on the dishwasher. Can the dishwasher be connected 240 volts? How about 3 phase?

The service is new. I guess I can try and see if the manufacture has a 240v model instead

I would check and see if both circuits were on the same phase. If they are on the same phase, put one of the two on a different phase. It's worked for me before. Good luck!

If the PoCo Xfmr is shared, the loads at the neighbors house can cause the lights to flicker and dim. I the dwelling is at or near the end of the Poco ckt this can happen too. This may not be the problem but, you could be chasing ghosts.
