I need to wire to roof top condensor units and an air handler on two 3phase convertors. My boss provided me with a 7.5hp phase convertor and there was already a 15hp unit there already powering a unit not in use anymore.
I was going to pull #8's to the 15hp unit and feed one condensor unit(20 amps)and the airhandler with #10s. The air handler is single phase and draws about 5 amps but has a 3 phase heating element in it that draws 20 amps.
I'm going to put in a fused disconnect for each,40 amps for the convertor and 30 for the airhandler and 30 for the condensor)
I was then going to use the 7.5hp convertor for the other condensor unit. Fused 30 amps at the panel and at the fused disconnect for the convertor. I was planning on using a non-fused disconnect at the condensor and was going to pull #10s.
On both condensors it says max fuse size 30 amps.
Does this installation sound correct? I already have read article 455 and want to make sure I wire this correctly.
