I have alot of the old gray or light green colored cloth wrapped NM cable in my home and I want to know if it is safe it seems to be in good shape its not brittle. The orginal section of the home was built in the fifties that section seems to be mostly BX but the rest is all cloth romex with the heavy paper and small ground

Don't worry; it's as safe as it can be without pulling all-new wiring, which I wouldn't do.
