my instructor asked us if we knew who Joseph N. Jackson was. Im thinking its in relation with the electrical field(obviously why would he pose the question)

...does any1 know?

Well, I have to confess that I didn't recognize the name, but a search reveals that he is credited with the invention of the programmable remote controller and "video commander."

He was an african-american, too, and his invention of the remote control is frequently cited as an example of important innovations by african-americans; that how I heard of him.
