One of the incoming lugs on my service panel has some sort of corrosion on it, similar to battery corrosion but not the same color. What could be causing this? Possibly too much load on that side of the panel?
Any help would be appreciated.

I've seen it many times. I don't know what causes it though, it looks like something chemical to me.

hi, if aluminum was used maybe the lugs are not listed for al...then you may be experiencing disimilar metals..or if it is a cheap panel the lugs may be more aluminum than copper, so that if copper was used you still get the same effect.
anyway noalox will prevent that

This is just common corrosion. The aluminum corrodes as a result of enviromental conditions and contaminants present during installation. No-Alox used during installation keeps this corrosion to a minimum, but it cannot be completely prevented. Most, if not all, lugs are listed for both AU and CO.
