Oh how I miss the days of playing air-guitar with one of those..... (The Millwakee version) Oh the fun we had.
I think I drilled 5000 holes in single five story building with one during the summer of '94.
It was love I tell you.... A nice sharp bit, with a file at ready.... No bending, no climbing a ladder. Just enough torque on low to go though 12" of lumber with a 7/8th " hole. And not having to stumble like an ape after work from all that bending and climbing.
Now..... the key to this item is not bending or clibing! After you drill all of these wonderfully easy to drill holes, you now need to put wire in them. I suggest straightened coat hanger, or #12 cieling wire as a leader for your MC or NM is just the ticket to aim for your hole from the ground without having to climb or bend. (#12 copper is too soft and will bend before you get it to the hole.) if it weren't for boxes and cans, you might not have to climb a ladder at all.....
I say buy one!
