Does anyone work around coal fired powerhouses or large coal fired boilers?
I am looking for some maintenance information on electrostatic precipators (ESP). Our past practice has been to megger the fields at 1000V sometimes when we startup we will encounter arcing even though the fields checked clear. I am of the opinion that we should hipot the fields the ESP operates between 30 and 50 KV and hipot would be a more realistic test. What is your ideas. THANKS HYPRESS

A test instrument with voltages at least as high as the operating voltage seems right.
