Thanks for the link. Looks like floor heating mounted in the ceiling.

For repair, you should check with your local NuHeat rep. In our area, they have a tech whose sole job is to repair in-floor heating AFTER the tiles have been laid. They can trace the bad/damaged wire right to the nearest tile, and repair it without damaging or lifting the entire floor. Tile guy comes back and pops the tile back in, re-grouts it and all is well.

I will surmise that the same concept can be done with ceiling heat?

I apologise for insulting ceiling heat as a whole. I have had two separate experiences with the individual wire type and when they were working, the only thing that was radiating was my money on its' way to the utility. It was hot near ceiling and cold near the floor but the attic was toasty.

I have repaired a few. I used a neon transformer for a split second. the location of the gap in the wire was immediately apparent. I used a butt splice and sprayed canned acoustic
to match existing. 20 minute job. Take any fire
precautions you deem necessary. All I had was a small arc and little black spot on all occasions. Maybe try it on the ground with a couple wires so you know what to expect. If you don't find it immediately, use another method.
