I bought a new truck to put into service last week and fell into a deal. I had been dealing on a 2004 Chevy HD 3/4T 2x4 for a week and finally made the deal. The dealer was transferring the truck from another dealership and asked for a "good faith" deposit. I wrote them a check and they said I would have the truck in 2 days. 2 days later they called and said they were sorry but the other dealer had sold the truck out from under me and they couldn't find another 04 2x4 3/4T truck with standard cab/8' bed. I told the dealer he had better find something for the price we agreed on because he had my check and I had his receipt. 2 hours later he came back to me with a 2004 2500HD w/towing package, AC, tilt, cruise 4x4 for the same money as the 2x4 we were dealing on. I told him I would accept it if I had it by end of business the next day. He agreed and now I have a $29,950.00 truck for $19,875.00! I have always heard about some lucky slob getting a deal because the dealer made a mistake but I never thought I'd get to be that lucky slob! It's my first brand new truck in about 10 years and it feels great. Not that anyone out there cares, I just needed to brag a little.

Fred, congratulations on the new truck. Hope you get many good years from it. Great deal. Sometimes it's nice to be able to brag.

Fred that's a really bad truck, all sorts of problems with them already. You better bring it over to my place right away and I'll take it off your hands. [Linked Image]

Fred, Aren't you out to make a profit? I'll give you 21,875.00 if it's delivered. You could then go and do the same thing again and in a very short time you would have a new truck all paid for. How about It?

I spent about a month in the library and different things trying to figure out how to beat the car salesman, before we went shopping for a car. I think he still got me [Linked Image] Steve

Having a 04' 2500HD myself, keep the money you saved for gas! You'll need it.
