On the cordless note:

Somebody should make this...

A battery pack inverter, small enough to fit in your bags, and powerfull enough to operate a jack hammer for 8 hours!

'Cause it would be cool if they did it right. And then we could discuss all the code issues it would create. And I can see the OHSA Newsletter now about "How to properly WEAR your Grounding Leash, and Collar" [Linked Image]

It would be nice if cordless technology went just a few more steps, and STANDARDIZED!

I coil the length of my armspan like straightedge does. Except for the entire cord. Then I use a piece of THHN solid to wrap around the top to hold it together. This keeps the strain on the cord to an absolute minimum.

Edited to add, why would you want to run a jackhammer for 8 hours? That's for the laborers.

I coil it up , rolling the cord as I go to take the twist as out of it. then I use a "CLamp-it" , a handcuff looking thing. goes around the coils, keeping everything together.
