I'm about 40 miles east of Indianapolis right along I-70. Nearest town of any size is New Castle, pop. 20,000 or so. Home of Steve Alford, if you're a basketball fan. I'm about 20 miles north of Rushville, home of Tony Stewart, if you're a NASCAR fan.

Dallas, are you going to the Steam & Tractor Show @ Billie Creek Village in Rockville this weekend? If so, may see you there and not even know it!

Hello From Colorado!!!! I Know I have not been making any posts as of late and I am sorry, But I'm Back now!
I am glad to see that someone finally decided to address the problem of people not saying who they are or where they are from. I like to know a little about who I am talking to.
As for me, It is no secret that I am from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Live right in the heart of town, and dead center of Denver and Pueblo. I am married to the love of my life, have two beautiful children, and the greatest job I have ever had is being an Electrician!!
As for a get together? I think I will have to stop off in Nebraska and pick up Golf Junkie on the way, cause that's the only way I would be able to make a cross country trip....Company for the drive!!!LOL

Doh!... But you inadvertently cut the "West" out of "West Virginia"! That is a capital offense here! (Hence West "By God" Virginia) Hee hee... No offense taken... (That is a map of counties in Southern WV BTW...) Well, maybe we could all meet in Wyoming County West Virginia!! (Sure'd make it easy for me to get there!) Manifest Destiny?

Hi, Boys! I live 150 miles southeast of Seattle and 200 miles southwest of Spokane in a town named Moxee. Just about dead center in Washington state. Moxee is French and named as such because of the early French pioneers who landed here. It's strictly agriculture country. Got lots and lots of hops. You know, used to flavor beer (mmmmm). Plenty of apples too. Temperatures reach 95-100 degrees in summer and usually mild in the winter, 30's and 40's. Although it can get downright cold somteimes. Say 0 to minus 15 degrees. We call the Cascade mountains (Mt. Rainer, et al.) the "steel curtain." Duly named because they divide the westside (Seattle area) and the eastside where I live. East and West are like night and day. From the landscape to the politics. Green in Seattle. Desert brown country here. Liberal politics in Seattle and conservative here. Enjoy this BB a bunch. Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day! God Bless America!

Dspark:
I realized Joe wasn't kidding. I've even found Wyoming Co., W.Va. in my trust Rand-McNally road atlas.
I assure you though that plently of people here couldn't place either WV or the STATE of Wyo. on a map, and they certainly don't realize just how anyWashington, Lincoln etc. counties exist in different states. Even met someone who thought Washington D.C. must be in Washington State.
I suppose 3000 mi. is close enough!

Paul, There was a test given to post graduates from the University of CA Los Angeles (UCLA) a few years back. If I remember correctly, about 40% of them were unable to find Los Angeles on a US map, or Russia on a World map. I find this sad.

I find this sad. 40% of people at a university couldn't place their current location on a map??? Oh boy.... I'm not that good at world geography, but I can place all the major countries on a world map. If I do say so myself, at least I can place all 50 U.S. states on a map, name the state capitals and place all the major cities. Didn't go to university either!
