ive racked my brain trying to find the code on how close can a breaker box can be to a water heater or even a washing machine does someone know?

Other than the usual working clearances given in the NEC, I've been told by my AHJ that the BOCA book requires 60" clearance between a panel and a water heater, but I have not seen this with my own eyes (I haven't bought a BOCA book yet...)
