I'm getting these emails now, some that seem to come from ECN that include a zip file that is supposedly Password protected.

DO NOT OPEN IT !!

It is not from ECN and is probably a virus that cannot be detected because of th eway it is being sent.

Please be careful with any emails that you get containing attachments!

Here's an example:

(apparently from management@Electrical-Contractor.net)

Hmmm... Is the e-mail 34 or 35 kB? I got a number of these, but not with the same message. Things like "Kill the author of this!" and "Already?" [Linked Image] All of them from Poland.

EDIT: What Bill describes is the Bagle virus.

C-H,

Most of the ones I'm getting today are reported as either 13/14kb or 21/22kb

All different titles.
I've been getting these zip files for a while now, but noticed today that some 'seem' to be from an ECN address and now come with a password.

The place I work has been filtering ALL .zip attachments from all email to avoid the possibility of infection. The early birds who received them got a fast-propagating virus which infected over 7,000 files on their machines in record time.

Do be careful & even if you need to send something or are expecting to receive something which would normally require a zipped attachment, don't bother with it right now as it will only create more difficulty or get stripped by the mail servers.

should anyone open these files or think you have a virus, you can goto www.trendmicro.com
for a free virus scan. look under the personal/home computer section.
