When i was taking electrical classes my professor said that thers is 125 ways of wiring a receptacle but only one way is correct. And he got this information from one of the manufacturers.

Have you guys heard of such a thing?

He never gave us the answer. It was a project we were to finish and i do not believe any of my classmates got close.

Hmm, let's see.

There's black to brass, white to silver, green to green...

Black to brass, white to silver, copper to green...

Black to brass 1, Blue to brass 2, white to silver...

Black to brass 1, Blue to brass 2, white to silver1, white to silver 2 ...

How many colors of wire are there these days...many?

I think 124 ways wrong and only one way right. Total 125 ways. And the professor got this from a manufacturer.

Merci

Here go. I've seen #12 aluminum speed wired in the back of the outlet. 2 runs, in and out, and a third was added around the screws. Some times you can't believe it.
