I think this might be the first time I've been able to start one of these.

I'm just going to take it easy with a small group of good friends.
Anybody doing anything special?

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

(Where's those partying Smiley Guys when you need 'em?)

Just going to kick back & watch TV.

Tomorrow- definitely a bowl game to watch. Go Mountaineers!

I would like to wish a Happy New Year to all here too.

Thank you Bill for everything, and thanks to all the members and moderators for making this an educational and comfortable place to be.

I've got the flu, but since it can't be transmitted via the internet, want to wish you all a safe New Year.
This is the first time I've ever been home alone on New Years Day...wife is working.
Nyquil is a wonderful thing, but too darn strong...S

I'm very happy that things were relatively peaceful, with all of these terror threats, etc.

I was monitoring the NYPD copters on my scanner, and it seems that things were quite calm, especially after midnight (somebody made a snoring noise on the air).

As to the flu, my children had it. The doctor's office said that if their fever goes up to 105°Fahrenheit (that's 40.5 Celsius, 313.7 Kelvin, or 180 Gezundheit, careful of the spray), to take them to the E/R or to call the office. [Linked Image]

The remedy was bed rest, to drink a lot, and in the case of the fever, we gave the children liquid ibuprofen, which worked really well.

I started dosing up on Vitamin C, which seems to have done the trick. (That, and lots of hand-washing and laundry, especially when parents look like a big tissue to a toddler...)
