I just can't seem to find those temp light stringers made of SO cord around here

I'd much rather p[ay a few more bucks for those than the loose wire stringers that end up in knotted splices.....

thanks in advance

Hey Sparky:
For what it's worth, have you seen the MH work lites from RUUD Lighting.

400 watt, MH, hook, cord & plug & they are relatively inexpensive.

RUUD has a site....www.ruudlighting.com.

They sell direct to EC & are in Wisconsin

BTW, the "Code compliant" temp strings are readily avail at two supply houses here, Cooper & GE Supply.

The "loose wire" stingers are a code violation and have been since '96 or '99

There are still some "in between" products available.

Better than the "loose wire" but not SO cord either.

One type is "zip cord" and another type reminds me of 300 ohm twin lead antenna cable.

Both are UL approved for job sites 14 AWG yellow twin conductor assemblies.

thanks fellas

Think Good~
listed are some of the 'duhs' i deal with, many suppliers can't seem to get along with a desription alone, they need a cat # such as --McGill cat # 2252-0018 (which i'll now ph in this a.m.)

Don~
i recall the change, i also recall another passage allowing for a 'flying splice' , possibly in the '02.

AFC makes the approved stringers that Bob is talking about.
