A Spa is wired from a 50 A disco that was supplied with the spa. The disco contains a two pole 30A GFCI breaker for the motors, lights and controls. It also contains a two pole 20A GFCI breaker just for the heater, which is only a line to line load.The 30A breaker has a load side neutral to the spa. The 20A breaker for the heater has no load side neutral, just a line side one to the neutral buss.
The instructions specify which terminal in the spa to land each of the four hot conductors by phase. In other words, you need to identify L1 and L2 of the motor leads from the 30A breaker and L1 and L2 of the heater leads from the 20A breaker and connect them to the specified terminals on the spa.
If the installation was made and the 2 legs of each circuit were landed at random (The two circuits not being mixed up, just L1 & L2 reversed on one of them), could this cause a malfunction of the heater GFCI? Could it also damage the GFCI?
I cannot figure why it would matter if the the two hot legs were interchanged on either circuit.
I will greatly appreciate any help on this matter.

Reversing the Lines (L1-L2) by swapping sides would not matter. Same for swapping Load terminals.
Only when swapping one Line input and one Load output (or both) across respective In's and Out's, will trouble begin.
By this, I mean to:
<OL TYPE=A>

[*]Place Line "A" on one "Input" terminal, and Load "B" on the other "Input" terminal,

or,


[*]Placing both Lines "A" and "B" on the "Output" terminals and the "Loads" on the "Input" terminals.

...along with any other possible variations of the above.

This would create a malfunction as leaving a live circuit on the load side after the device has tripped from a ground fault.

Don't know of any damaging effects to the device(s)...only to the personnel!

Thanks Scott,
I understand about the proper line and load terminals, and I couldn't imagine, like you said, that reversing the 2 lines at the load would make any difference. That is why I don't see why the manufacturer indicates to keep them identified on the 5 terminal block at the spa, stating to use different colored conductors and all.
T1=30A-L1(RED)
T2=30A-L2(BLUE)
T3=20A-L1(RED)
T4=20A-L2(BLUE)
T5=N

I thought maybe there was a component that used power fron each of the circuits and reversing the load terminations on one of the circuits might make a difference of that component receiving 240 or 120V.
My second guess was that the instructions were written by non-qualified individuals!
