How much does it cost to install a ceiling fan? I got a quote for $300, for installing a ceiling fan with a new ceiling electrical box. Does the price sounds right?

$300.00 is on the high side. $150-200.00 seems more like it. However, if you have limited accessibility (no attic above the fan), and there is no power conveniently available, such as a receptacle or switch box, there could be significant drilling, and/or cutting & patching drywall. In that case, maybe it isn't a bad price.
Also, where do you live? And did you get a second price?

Thanks, I live in East Boston. I am waiting for another electrician to give me an estimate, no luck yet.
