I'm installing a refrigerant alarm in a 3000 ton chiller plant.I want to run 1\2 or 3\4 EMT along the I beams in the ceiling and come down next to the chillers with a 90 and along the front mounted on uni strut to the detectors which will be located below the chiller control panels at 18" on center.
Normally I would use ridged on anything mounted like this but the circuits are extra low voltage and my fear is that should the pipe be hit with a lift instead of folding like EMT Ridged will pull from the floor mounted struts and rip the detectors apart or damage the chiller control panel. The old alarm is currently piped in 1/2 EMT and ran through the panel to the detector.Looking for code rules and opinions. Thanks
