230-2 states that a structure shall be supplied by only one service. We have an existing commercial building with two services on it. One service supplys the building to which the services are attached, the second service supplys a pedestal on an adjacent property. Both parcels are owned by the same company. The AHJ is refusing a re-connect stating 230-2. I don't see where 230-2 applies, the second service is supplying another structure (the pedestal, it is not supplying the same building as the first service. We do not have two services supplying one building.
Also, 230.3 states service conductors supplying a building or other structure shall not pass thru the interior of another building or structure. The load side conductors of the second service do pass thru the first building, but they are not "service conductors", correct?

Where are the service disconnects? They are both on the first building, side by side.

Then I say there are 2 services brought to one building, sorry. Maybe you can get a vote the other way here but the only one that counts is your AHJ.

Are there two (2) utility drops? IF there is one utility drop, or one UG lateral then IMHO it sounds like only one service.

Of course, I wasn't thinking since I was pissed off from dealing with the local bureaucracy. There is only one service, just two meter mains. Since I didn't show the drop on my drawing they probably thought there were 2 drops, or else they are just being stupid, and it is rubbing off on me. I will let you know what happens when I point this out. Thanks.

OK you are right, one service, 2 disconnects and a second building scenario. It sounds like you just resubmit your plans, say sorry for the confusion and move on.

Part of the problem is our new permit application system, we are using ProjectDox. It is nice in some ways that you can do everything from the office but like everything else on the internet it's not always the same as face to face.
