How about painting the whole house RED. Like Clint Eastwood did. Seriously, I wonder what really is the safest way to insure payment. Notary, taking a video camera along, mechanical lean, court, bill collectors? Kinda like the automachanic, he can keep your car till you pay. Wish it was that easy for contractors.

Ironically enough, Kapulka spent part of Christmas Day watching ``The Godfather,'' the classic Mafia movie featuring the bloody depositing of a prized racehorse's head in the bed of a man who crossed the mob.

Best solution that I found is working for "a few good people". I'm not "picky", but over the years of "getting burned" (financially) I made a decission, that the "bad payers" can take a hike. One by one they all "went away". I shared the info with other EC's so they were forewarned.

Fortunatly, I have a great client base, all commercial, and the bills get paid regular.

Collection? Been there, done it. Court, same thing; liens? a piece of paper basically. "Judgements"? oh yes, see liens.
I'm not crying, and I'm not saying that everything is always roses, but guys....try to be a littel "choosie" (?spelling) We all can work, but we all should get paid.
