Warranty service call at a nearly new auto dealership. "None of our lot lights or signage came on last night" (About 150-1000 watt metal halides, filthy cuss words omitted).
OK, 60 miles each way.
Get there to a very unwelcoming atmosphere. ("You guys did a #@*%!^ job")
Find Christmas lights everywhere...including within an inch or so of the lighting control's photocell.
Sorry, buddy, not a warranty issue.
2-1/2 hrs drivetime...$175.00
1/2 hr worktime...$35.00
The look on the Service Manager's face...Priceless [Linked Image]...S

I sure hope these guys changed their tune (and their attitude toward you) after that one!

Think they'll remember where NOT to put the fairy lights next year? [Linked Image]

Don't you love the way people ASSume the problem is because WE screwed up. Just today I went to a house we had done a bunch of work. The circuit breaker would trip when you flipped a light switch in the hall. The customer noticed that the fan we installed was on when it would trip. I get there and make sure the fan was off, flip the switch and it trips, I take offthe fixture that was connected to the switch(we did not install either), there was a dead short between the hot and ground. That'll be $85 please.
