BTW, I found a good use for one of these back in '05......extracting ground rods! THe 'Chicago Grip' model did a great job on 5/8" & 3/4" rods that had to be removed.
As to a 'good buy' for a HO....I can think of a few who may be knowledgeable enough to buy & try for the DIY jobs they came up short in.
Slater made them as well I think. I will look in the line truck Monday who made the ones we have, but we use them when stringing triplex for temporary power and for snugging up guy cable.
This reminds me of the "wood stretcher" that I keep sending my apprentices to my truck to look for when their "hot girl" stories get annoying. Usually keeps them busy for a while.
